Shouldn’t the experts you hire be their own expert first?

Don’t we want…

– our physical trainers to be in good shape?
– our financial planners to have their own finances in order
– our website developers to have a great website

and….
Shouldn’t your marketer drive traffic to their own website too?

be what you sell

Should Business owners have Therapists?

Do all entrepreneurs need a therapist?

Thom and I discuss the manic ups and downs that we experience daily. We know we are not unique. Most Entrepreneurs feel what we are feeling on a day to day basis too!

In fact…it was these types of conversations that prompted Thom and I to start the “Take a Breath Podcast.”

We were having deep conversations daily sometimes multiple times a day until one day I said… ” you know what…others may find value in our conversations….let’s record them”. And so we did.


We did not (and still do not) care if anyone listened.

We rarely have guests.

We just talk to each other about what is going on in both our professional and personal lives..

3 years later our little “Take a Breath” podcast has taken on a life of it’s own.

Our only objective was to document our process…the good and the bad.

We hope you get as much out of it as we do.

Be Yourself always in every situation.

Do you live two separate lives?

Are you a different person professionally then you are personally?

Which one do you like better?


I believe it is a huge energy drain if you are two different people at home and at work. I also believe we should aim to be our authentic selves always and at all costs. Everyone is better off if we are authentic and genuine.

The message is…just be yourself.

No one said it would be easy

No one ever said selling a product or service would be easy.

It is especially difficult when you are dealing with a prospect’s preconceived notion about salespeople in general.

If you are a salesperson, you have to first subtly convince your prospect that you are a genuine honest person before you sell them a product or service.

It is especially difficult for salespeople who know they have a tool that will provide real value and a measurable ROI to convince a prospect who does NOT want to meet…to meet with them.

Thom and I discuss this further. There is no great answer for this one other than to stay in it if you believe in what you are doing.

Are you a Luddite?

Are you a Luddite? Without using Google or Chatgpt…do you know what it means when you are referred to as a Luddite?

You may very well be one.

Thom and I discuss AI in terms of what it means for humanity going forward.

I tell the story about the Luddites which were a group of people following a guy named Ned Ludd during the industrial revolution.

Lud along with his followers were destroying sewing machines so “save” the jobs of humans. These people were worried that their services were not needed anymore and that is how they dealt with it.

Whether you are scared or hate the idea AI….it is really irrelevant. It’s here, getting more powerful every second.

In 1-5 years AI will be smarter that all humans on earth combined.

Do not be a luddite.

Every young adult should wait tables

Every young adult should wait tables at some point in their career.

Benefits…

– requirement gathering

– customer service

– sales

– upselling

– setting expectations

– performance based compensation in the form of tips

– money management

– learning how to work with a team

– learning how to support coworkers

Those were just some of the many benefits I came up with off the top of my head.

Maybe most importantly, waiting tables will teach empathy towards people in other occupations like taxi drivers, cleaners etc.

People show me all I need to know about them when they are nasty to their wait staff. Thom and I go deep on this subject in the following clip.

Zach Reisler

Introducing Zachary Reisler .

Zach is 18 years old and a Senior in High School.

He is already a founder of around 10 businesses…..real revenue generating businesses.

He started a “drop ship” company at the ripe old age of 14.

He created TikTok video for his first company that went viral receiving over 14 million views and hundreds of thousands of comments.

He is a world traveler, digital marketer and overall great person.

He studies history on his own.

Zach talks about his plans after high school.

Zach does not have time for College.

He also explains why North Eastern Europe is a tech hub.

I took notes when he spoke.

I believe Zach’s path after High School is going to be the norm rather than an anomaly in the very near future. Reason being that attending a university does not guarantee a positive return on your investment.

I root for people like Zach.

Something tells me whether I am rooting for him or not…he is destined for success.

Zach Reisler is not your typical 18 year old .

He started his first company at the age of 14. He has since started 9 more businesses.

He has published videos that have received over 14millions views and 100’s of thousand of comments.

He is a world traveler, digital marketer and happens to be a senior in high school.

I wanted to learn more about Zach.

What are his days like?

What are his plans after high school?

How did he receive 14millions views on a video? I think Zach represents a change in our perception of traditional paths for young adults getting started in life.

There are multiple paths people can take…not just 1. This is Zach’s Story.

Truth Hurts

It’s not us …it’s you.

Thom and I talk about how there are times when #mergedanalytics does not deliver intelligence. In most cases…it is not us…it’s you!

MergedAnalytics is just the messenger.

We also discuss how Commercial Design and Build firms seem to get the most actionable intelligence while our Marketing Agency partners seem to get the worst.

I have yet to figure out why this is and if I am being honest….I am not sure I really care.

We also discuss how Fractional CMO’s are leveraging our white labeled versions for their customers.
